70 Series Toyota LandCruiser
High Performance Air Cleaner Housing + Filter Kit
Snorkel Adapter Compatibility
The PowerCore 4x4 Air Cleaner Housing for the Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series (XLC070K) features a larger intake diameter than the OEM airbox, measuring 4.5" (114mm) at the outer diameter.
This increased intake diameter significantly reduces restriction and improves overall airflow, allowing the engine to breathe more easily while extending the service life of the filter.
Pro Tip: Replacing the factory Toyota ‘Top Hat’ separator with an Air Ram will further reduce the initial intake restriction.

Snorkel Adapters
The PowerCore 4x4, 70 Series LandCruiser kit was designed with the Safari Armax snorkel in mind. This kit is supplied with a standard intake adapter for stock intakes on VDJ76, 78, 79 (Applications Pre Sep 2023).
Adapters for Safari Armax and Safari V-spec are sold separately. All adapters are supplied with the required clamps.

Toyota STD Intake Adapter
Supplied initially with the kit

Safari Armax Intake Adapter

Safari V-spec Intake Adapter

* XLC070K is not compatible with all aftermarket snorkel brands. Check the market available adapters before purchasing kit (intake OD 4.5" / 114mm)
Comparing the Configurations
1st Place: The PowerCore 70 Series Kit, when paired with the Safari Armax Snorkel and Adapter, delivers the best performance, reducing intake restriction by about 69.8% compared to OEM.
2nd Place: The V‑spec, delivering a ~61.5% reduction in intake restriction vs OEM at 450 SCFM. (Standard Cubic Feet per Minute)
The Toyota ‘Top-Hat’ separator creates excessive restriction; changing to an Air Ram for the STD setup will significantly decrease restriction.

Graph values are based on Donaldson Labs testing; real-world conditions may vary.
The Performance Advantage
Lower restriction isn’t just a number—it translates to better engine breathing, improved response and fuel economy, and also greater headroom under load.
Whether the priority is durability, performance, or outright airflow capacity, the data confirms:
Armax leads. V‑spec follows closely. OEM is left behind.
